Floraine - I have been to Brooklyn but not birding. However, here's a link you can check out. http://www.camacdonald.com/birding/usnewyork.htm. Also, you might try a local Audubon Chapter. They are inexpensive to join and offer field trips, many of which would be local. There is a blog "10,000 Birds", which is on my blogroll and it covers just about anything you could want with birds. One of the bloggers who manages that live in Manhattan. Good luck.</description>

Actually, I'd love to know what birds I should be looking out for in Brooklyn, if you know of any beyond the sparrows and the woodpeckers and crows.  I'd just be glad to hear from you.</description>
